Affordable Home Energy Program (Manitoba)
Manitoba's 2025-launched umbrella for affordable heating: income-qualified homeowners and renters get a FREE ground-source heat pump or free insulation (via the Energy Efficiency Assistance Program and Métis Energy Efficiency Offers — Manitoba's delivery of the federal Affordability Program), while other homeowners get a ground-source heat pump with no upfront cost, repaid $75/month interest-free for 15 years on the hydro bill.

Who qualifies
- ✓GSHP path: replacing electric furnace/boiler/baseboards or natural-gas heat (fuel-oil converters qualify); new homes eligible; primary residence
- ✓Contractor registered with Efficiency Manitoba (MGEA-accredited installers)
- ✓The $75/month loan is due on sale of the home and non-transferable
How to apply
- 1Contact a registered contractor to start; you receive an email approval with a 1-year install window
- 2After installation, sign the completion declaration and submit permits/invoices
- 3The $75/month charge appears on your Manitoba Hydro bill
Stacking with other programs
This umbrella is Manitoba’s Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program delivery. Oil-heated homes could also use federal OHPA until July 31, 2026.
