Heating Assistance Rebate Program — HARP (Nova Scotia)

Nova Scotia's seasonal heating-bill rebate: $400 in 2025-26 for lower-income households that pay for their own heat (renters included). The 2025-26 window closed March 31, 2026 — applications reopen October 1, 2026 for next winter. The 2026-27 amount hasn't been announced yet.

Who qualifies
- ✓You pay for your own heat (owners and renters both qualify)
- ✓Single household net income ≤ $30,000, OR family combined net income ≤ $45,000
- ✓OR you receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement or income assistance
How to apply
- 1From October 1, 2026: apply online at novascotia.ca/heatinghelp or on paper at Access NS and MLA offices
- 2Include a heating bill; payment by CRA direct deposit or cheque
Stacking with other programs
A bill-relief payment, not a retrofit rebate — it does not affect eligibility for Efficiency Nova Scotia retrofit programs.
