Oil to Electric Incentive Program (Newfoundland & Labrador)
Up to $22,000 for income-qualified NL homeowners to switch from oil to electric heat (heat pumps, electric furnace or boiler) — combining the federal OHPA grant (up to $15,000) with provincial funds (up to $7,000), paid directly to a participating installer. Unlike the national OHPA intake (closed July 31, 2026), NL's program is still accepting applications, with no closure date announced — but the province encourages applying as soon as possible.

Who qualifies
- ✓Homeowner with active electricity account; year-round primary residence in NL on the island or Labrador grid (no new homes)
- ✓Oil statement showing at least 500 L consumed over a consecutive 12-month period within 2 years of applying (propane: 1,000 L)
- ✓Income tiers depend on household size and adjusted net income — check the official income chart
- ✓Must use a participating installer; incentive is paid directly to them

The federal OHPA grant is embedded in this program — you do not apply to NRCan separately. takeCHARGE offers no standalone heat pump rebate; this is the heat pump money in NL.
