Rénoclimat (Québec)
Québec's provincial home retrofit program was overhauled on October 1, 2026. The pre-work energy evaluation is now optional (with up to $500 in aid), and grants cover roof, wall and foundation insulation, windows, backup power connections and fixed batteries, plus a new flood-adaptation component. Rénoclimat does not fund heating systems — heat pump grants come from Hydro-Québec's LogisVert. Homes already evaluated under the old rules can finish under them if the post-work evaluation is done by March 31, 2027.

Who qualifies
- ✓Home located in Québec (single-family homes; duplexes, triplexes and multi-unit residential buildings have higher caps)
- ✓Work completed after October 1, 2026 by a contractor holding the licences required for each type of work
- ✓Backup power and battery measures: principal residences and multi-unit buildings only
- ✓Transition: if you were evaluated before Oct 1, 2026, finish the work and get the post-work evaluation by March 31, 2027 to keep the old rules
How to apply

Stacking with other programs
Combine Rénoclimat (envelope work: insulation, air sealing, doors, windows) with LogisVert (heat pumps and efficient equipment) on the same project. Geothermal projects may also access a separate tax credit.
Frequently asked questions
›Does Rénoclimat still cover heat pumps?
No. Rénoclimat does not provide financial assistance for installing or replacing a heating system. Heat pump grants in Québec come from Hydro-Québec's LogisVert (up to $6,700 for an air-source unit).
›Do I still need an evaluation before the work?
Not under the rules in force since October 1, 2026 — the pre-work evaluation is recommended, not mandatory, and aid of up to $500 is available for it. Appointment requests under the old rules are no longer accepted.
›What changed on October 1, 2026?
New caps by measure (roof, walls, foundation, windows), new backup-power and battery grants, a new flood-adaptation component, and a licensed-contractor requirement. The new online application portal is still being rolled out.
