Home Energy Rebates in Ontario (2026)
Ontario's Home Renovation Savings Program (which replaced HER+ in January 2025) offers up to $7,500 for heat pumps in non-gas homes and up to $12,000 for geothermal, funded through November 30, 2026. Oil-heated homes could also stack the federal OHPA grant until its July 31, 2026 deadline. Here is every program, verified.

Homeowners with an already-approved loan can continue to access their funding. Canada Greener Homes Grant (closed)The federal grant of up to $5,000 for home retrofits ($5,600 with the evaluation reimbursement) is closed. December 31, 2025 was the last day for participants to submit their documents — remaining files are being finalized by NRCan. Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program (OHPA)The federal grant of up to $10,000 (up to $15,000 in co-delivery provinces) to switch an oil-heated home to a cold-climate electric heat pump is closed: July 31, 2026 was the last day to apply. Approved applicants must complete the work and upload all documents (receipts, contractor attestation) by January 31, 2027.
