Alberta has no province-wide retrofit rebate — its main instrument is CEIP financing: up to $50,000 repaid through property taxes, available in 26+ municipalities (Edmonton is waitlisted; Calgary reopens September 22, 2026). Medicine Hat's HAT Smart adds up to $5,000 in real rebates for its utility customers. Here is what actually exists, verified.

Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program (OHPA)The federal grant of up to $10,000 (up to $15,000 in co-delivery provinces) to switch an oil-heated home to a cold-climate electric heat pump is closed: July 31, 2026 was the last day to apply. Approved applicants must complete the work and upload all documents (receipts, contractor attestation) by January 31, 2027.
